    Glass neon is a hand-bent gas-discharge craft with a distinct exposed-tube character. LED neon-style products use LEDs inside a flexible diffuser to create a related visual language. Choose based on the desired artifact, line detail, installation environment, controls and access to qualified service—not a claim that one technology always wins.

    Listing, installation and permit requirements apply to the complete sign and jurisdiction. Low-voltage light sections do not eliminate the need to plan the building-power connection.

    Does LED neon look exactly like glass neon?

    No. Good LED neon-style systems can produce a convincing continuous line, but the diffuser profile, bends, unlit appearance and halo differ from exposed glass tubing.

    Is glass neon obsolete?

    No. It remains the right medium for many restorations, historic contexts and art-led signs where the glass tube and hand-bent craft are part of the desired result.

    Which one is cheaper?

    There is no reliable blanket answer. Artwork complexity, scale, controls, backing, protection, power equipment, packing and installation can move either project. Compare the same approved design and site scope.
